What is DREAME?
Dreame is a reading app where people can read and publish stories in several languages. Its primary audience reads/writes in English but they also accept Indonesian, Filipino, German, French, Spanish, Croatian, Russian, and a few more languages. Its audience is mainly female in the 16-40 range since the platform focuses on romance stories.
‘Dreame‘ is actually one of the numerous apps owned by the main company – Stary LTD. It’s just that different platforms target different genres like Dreame (romance), Ringdom (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Game), or languages, like Yugto (Indonesian) or Sueñovela (Spanish). Usually, all novels signed with Stary LTD appear under a number of sister apps like those (where applicable).
So why Dreame? Simple. Because of its audience. Dreame has been No.1 app for reading stories online for a long time and it has a much bigger audience than most other apps, which means more chances for your books to find readers. They are not perfect but in terms of exposure, if you are lucky to be promoted, you sure can hit it big with just one book. But we’ll talk about this in a bit.
Dreame has a website and an app that can be installed for free. There are stories on it that are entirely free, wait-for-free, and paid.
- The free ones are usually stories that are not signed (anybody can post a story there) or are not YET eligible to become paid (in order for a book to become paid, it has to gather at least 500 followers).
- The wait-for-free books are usually books that used to be paid, but for some reason were made free as long as you wait a particular time for each chapter to unlock (you can still unlock the chapters with coins if you can’t wait).
- The paid stories – those are stories signed with Stary that have become eligible to become premium content. They usually have the first few chapters free and then they are locked and you need to use coins (Dreame’s currency) to unlock them. That’s mainly how writers earn their income – that and bonuses.
More about their bonuses read here.
